3 days in Cappadocia (Part I)

Cappadocia or also written as Kapadokya in Turkish is one of the best destinations in Turkey. When I first arrived there I feel like I was in Mars and having that Star Wars vibe you know. It was totally different from other city in Turkey. Cappadocia has the most unique landscapes on the planet. Also the best thing here is that the people are super nice. Especially when they know that we can speak turkish. Some of them treated us with some nice hot tea and also discounts on the things that we bought!

Day 1

Actually, there are many ways to go to Cappadocia depending on where you're coming from. We went there by bus because it was the cheapest at the time. If we have had planned to go to Cappadocia beforehand the flight ticket prices might be cheaper than bus fare. We took Kamil Koc firm and the fare was 70TL. We leaved Bursa at 6.30p.m. and the journey took 11 and a half hours.

We reached Nevşehir Otogarı(bus station) at 5.30a.m. and from there they provided a service to Göreme Otogarı. Göreme is the town where our hotel is. It took only 30 minutes to reach the town. It was still dark and really cold when we arrived the bus station. We knew that we'll reached Göreme in the early morning so we booked a hotel that only take 5 minutes walk from the bus station. We stayed at Gedik Cave Hotel. The price is quite cheap compared to other hotels. We were very satisfied with the rooms, the worker and their facilities. Usually we can only check into the hotel after 12p.m. but we were so lucky, they gave us a room right away at the time and asked us to take a rest. We went to the terrace to see the sunrise, but the best thing happened when the hot air balloons also flew at the same time. The view was really amazing. After that we went to sleep and the worker woke us up at 10a.m. for breakfast.

After breakfast we went strolling around the town and we were looking for the best travel agency for Green Tour. In Cappadocia it's necessary to go around by tour because all the tourist attraction places are far from one another. There are a few types of daily tour in Cappadocia which are known as Green Tour, Red Tour and Blue Tour. These tours bring you to different places and they are one day tour. You guys can read more about these tours on Tripadvisor or just google it.

We went and asked to 5 different travel agents and their normal price for Green Tour is 120-135TL. If you are a foreign student who can speak turkish and good at negotiating, you might get 90TL for that Green Tour just like we did 😄

For lunch, we went to a korean restaurant because we had enough of turkish food 💁🏻 There were so many restaurants and mostly the price started from 20tl for a main course. That's why we decided to eat at the korean restaurant for 45tl per pax with 3 different course and side dishes. It's much worthy for us.

Göreme is a small town with amazing view. We just go around and went to the hills to see the beautiful view of the town. It feels like a therapy when we were there. We had a very leisure time. And nothing to rush because there was only 2 of us.
